With 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's and more than 15 million people providing treatment, the need to accelerate improved treatment and an early on and accurate medical diagnosis today, when scientifically supported, is critical. Seven years ago, this brain amyloid imaging technology did not exist. The timeframe at which CMS has carried out CED processes is wholly unsuited and unacceptable to both the speed of scientific and know-how in the Alzheimer's field, and moreover, the rapidly increasing requirements posed by the escalating Alzheimer's epidemic. Understanding that this is a draft decision from CMS, in fact it is not yet final, the Alzheimer's Association will continue to engage the scientific and healthcare communities, in addition to advocates, to educate CMS with respect to our constituents about the benefits of coverage for brain amyloid imaging – – in small populations seeing that defined by the scientifically-driven appropriate use requirements – – as CMS develops your final decision.CVS/pharmacy has more than 7,700 retail pharmacy locations across the U.S. Where CVS pharmacists provide counseling to patients to help them end up being adherent to their chronic disease medicines.
